Get Lean Plan

The Get Lean Plan is a physician supervised weight loss plan designed for people looking to develop healthy habits that last a lifetime.  The term "weight loss" is a bit of a misnomer.  We're really concerned with "fat loss" rather than simply the number on the scale.  But that is just semantics - we know what you want.  To be lean, fit and attractive!  While lowering the number on the scale (weight loss) is often part of the goal, more importantly we focus on the type of weight you are losing to ensure that you are burning fat while preserving your lean muscle mass.  We'll help you determine your optimal body composition, and once you achieve it, we will educate you on strategies to maintain it.

The Get Lean plan requires at least a 3 month commitment to ensure that you achieve long-term success.  According to well documented studies, 95% of dieters who lose weight gain it back (and often more) in two years or less. We want you to lose fat and keep it off - permanently!  We teach you the skills to do this - it is much, much more than an eating prescription.

Studies also show that the more continuous the support and the more individualized that support is, the more weight is lost and kept off.  In 2007, the North American Association for the Study of Obesity compared self-help eDiets to a therapist-led structured behavioral weight loss program.  It showed that those participants dealing with a real person lost more than double the weight compared to the self-help program.  We see this in our practice everyday!

The content of your plan will depend on the specific areas that are impeding your ability to lose body fat; however, at a minimum, it will include the following:
  • Extensive education on healthy nutrition including binder and cookbook
  • Food diary review
  • Exercise program development
  • Body composition measurements to track progress
  • Meal planning tips
  • Strategies for traveling and dining out
  • How to curb cravings
  • Stress reduction techniques
  • Lab test recommendations (conventional labs as well as specialized testing options for vitamins/nutrients, hormones, food sensitivities, etc.)
  • Mobile lab technician service (blood draw performed in comfort of your own home or office)
  • Targeted supplement recommendations to promote the rapid achievement of your goal
  • Inner Diet Profile and Activity book to address emotional eating triggers (developed by a clinical psychologist)
  • Coaching on how to commit to and achieve your goals
  • Unlimited email support between consultations
Follow-up consultations are scheduled either weekly or bi-weekly.  The frequency of the consultations is at your discretion, although we do recommend weekly consultations so that any questions you have can be answered and your program can be adjusted to ensure you are progressing towards your goals.  The Get Lean Plan is available in 12, 24 or 48 visit packages.
